Baby’s Head: Normal Versus Sagittal Craniosynostosis

This illustration compares the head profile and superior view of the skull of a normal baby (a1 & a2) and that of baby with craniosynostosis of the sagittal suture (b1 & b2). The fused sagittal suture forces the skull to form into a long narrow shape as the brain grows.
