Placement of the keratin hydrogel in the conduit.

A. The tibial nerve is cut and the silicone tube is interposed
B. The nerve is sutured in place with 10-0 nylon after visually verifying the gap distance using a ruler
C. The hydrogel is slowly injected as the modified 28-gauge needle is retracted, thereby filling the luminal space
